Krav Maga Groundfighting Seminar
KMSD Groundfighting Seminars train students how to use Krav Maga principles to defend yourself and safely escape, or if necessary, subdue an opponent, depending on the situation, in a real-world scenario outside of a gym. It is critical for students to understand that although Krav Maga groundfighting borrows many tactics and techniques from sport fighting, it is fundamentally different in it’s strategy.
Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of Krav Maga, discovered that his sport fighting, including wrestling, was insufficient in a street fight, because sport fighting has:
- one opponent
- rules
- a referee
- no weapons
In a street fight, you must be aware that another attacker may join the fight; you are not fighting with rules and there is nobody to mediate the conflict; and your opponent may use a weapon.
These training events are typically 3 hours in length, and may be open to 16-17 year old teens as well as adults. Their frequency is based on requests, so if you are interested in attending one of these seminars, ask your friends / coworkers / classmates to request to be placed on the specific contact list.
